WOVEN PORTALS
A collection of 100 artworks that blend spaceship navigation interfaces with the infinite geometry of Persian rugs. These artworks were made entirely by hand/tablet in Adobe Illustrator.
The primary ingredients in these artworks are Persian rugs and spaceship interfaces. Secondary ingredients include engineering schematics, astrological grids and Arabic and Urdu Calligraphy. The process of making each work begins with a base composition of ingredients, which are then vectorized, outlined and blended into each other multiple times in various directions, creating an intricate blended object with a unique persona of its own.
INSIDE THE PORTALS: PROCESS
These artworks start off as collages of Persian rugs elements fused with Spaceship interfaces, sprinkled with engineering schematics and Arabic and Urdu Calligraphy. Once a rough composition is made with these ingredients, it is vectorized and outlined using color gradients. Each object is then blended into each other multiple times, in various directions. The end result is an abstract shape with a unique persona of its own.
THE FIRST 50 WORKS:
A note on NFTs and PRINTs.
It’s a matter of preference really. I’d like to give my collectors and community a choice of ownership in both the digital and non-digital world.
NFTs.
Here, printability is the utility. Each NFT comes with a private link to a PDF file of that artwork. Since these works are vector based, they can be printed at any size with no loss in quality. I give permission to the collector to print the artwork, and if they choose to sell their NFT, that print is theirs to keep and enjoy.
